Update on Belly Watch 2011

It has been a while since I last updated on my ever-expanding belly. It is definitely taking up more space, and I have been bumping into things a lot more lately. I love feeling Miles more around in there, especially when we play our "gotcha" game - where I poke him and he kicks back. Only about 8 more weeks to go!

3D Ultrasound Pics of Miles

Just got back from a 3D ultrasound appointment. It was free because it was basically a student training class that I went to. The teacher took some pics at the beginning and taught the students some things about how to find different baby parts in utero, then the students got to sit in the driver's seat and poke around for awhile. The bonus was that we got a CD full of images. The US tech said that Miles was a "pretty" boy and very cooperative. Check it out for yourself...

The ultrasound tech also mentioned that Miles' head development was 3 weeks ahead of his body development. I asked if this was at all related to my recent gestational diabetes diagnosis, and she said "No, he just happens to have a big head." I figured he got that from Andrew, but my mom mentioned that "big heads" run in our family too. Hopefully it slows down a little...he's gotta be able to come out!

Yesterday was my birthday..da nah na na na nah...

Most of my day was just a normal day at the office. Then, I got home and Andrew surprised me with a homemade five-course dinner. It was the most fantastic meal I have had in a LONG LONG time (probably since I was at Bouchon in Las Vegas with the Levitts').

We started out with a made-from-scratch tomato bisque. We then moved to a raspberry and garlic crouton salad with homemade dressing. The main course was a cedar plank smoked atlantic salmon (just perfectly cooked). Then, perhaps one of my favorite parts, a CHEESE course, with three different kinds of cheeses! Oh boy, I am getting excited again just thinking about it. Finally, he made his own Crème Brulee, which is my favorite dessert.

Between each course I got a little surprise gift (e.g., deep conditioning treatment, CD, spa gift certificate). He really hit this one out of the park!

Miles was so excited he was bouncing around the entire dinner. Hopefully, he will like to cook as much as his Daddy. Then, I can just sit back and enjoy the delicious meals served by my two favorite boys. :)

Playing a game with my son...

I was just sitting at my desk trying to read an article. Then Miles started to kick around a bit. I figured I would take this opportunity to see if I could see my belly jostle around from the outside. So, I poked the side of my belly and sure enough he gave two quick kicks back AND I could actually see my belly twitch a little. It was pretty cool so I poked him again and he kicked back again. Pretty awesome...
